This is the place that I recorded the CD with the hit song Deer Hunting Season Again. A
little bit about RY Productions and the person that owns and operates it. RY Productions
is located in a place called Willard Wisconsin (Pop. 587) and is owned by a gentleman by
the name of Richie Yuckovich.
The location is actually 6 1/2 miles west of Greenwood Wisconsin. Greenwood is located
on Highway 73 about half way between Highway 29 and Neillsville, Wisconsin. Willard is the
type of town that my dad used to tell a story about. This young couple was out traveling
and the young lady said: "What's the name of this town we're coming too"? The young man
asked, "You mean the one we're in"? And she answered back: "No the one we just went
through."
Willard consists of a couple of bars, a ball diamond and a few other businesses on main
street which is about three or four blocks long. Richie's recording studio is about 5 miles
to the north of Willard. The studio itself is a converted garage proving that you don't need
a lot of area to create a recording studio.
The official address for the studio is N10060 Fisher Ave, Willard WI 54493 and the
telephone number is 715-267-6749. There is no professional voice that answers the
phone: "RY Productions, how can I direct your call." No sirree. When you call the number
you'll hear a soft spoken voice simply say hello. That will be Richie.
Let me tell you a little about the studio and it's location. Richie's studio is located out in
the middle of nowhere. It's between nowhere and nowhere. The fact is that he is located
on a dead end road and on the mailbox is the name Richie Yurkovich. One thing is for
certain. Other than the grader passing by and grading the road and an occasional plane
passing overhead, there are no distractions. His studio is the ultimate example of peace
and quiet. Other than the deer, the turkeys, and the birds and bees and probably an
occasional bear, there isn't a lot of activity around Richie Yurkovich's RY Productions. In
this topsy turvy world it's nice to know that there is still a little bit of paradise left.
The studio itself is a class A act. Richie has most of the latest equipment for recording. He
hasn't went digital but from the sounds of my CD, who cares. When you can produce this
kind of sound, there is no need to look any further. And you can bet that this man knows
how to operate this equipment and Richie also knows how to achieve the best mix and
sound in the business.
I called Richie because I read an article in the local newspaper several years before and I
filed it away thinking that someday I would have a use for his talents. I wanted to lay down
a few tracks because I'm getting older and I don't have a lot of time left in this world. I
wanted to leave my mark, so to speak, and I wanted to leave a record of some of the songs
I have written. That's the reason I called Richie. I went to visit Richie at his studio and we
got to discussing some of the songs I had written. Richie said he could get some
musicians together to do a demo of my songs. I was and am simply amazed at what came
out of Richie's studio. A very high class CD that is not only a record of some of the many
songs I have written, but it is totally marketable. Richie knows talent and is very qualified
and capable of making things work and giving the customer one heck of a product.
For a look at Richie Yurkovich's website go to: http://www.polkarioty.com/ or email him at
polkarioty@yahoo.com. Don't let the "Polka King" thing scare you off. This man is capable
of recording anything you want to record.
Richie also has CD's available on his website. They are all first quality. Order directly from
Richie or order his latest CD from either iTunes or CD Baby on the web.
Richie Yurkovich truly loves what he is doing and it shows in the work that he does. Get a
hold of Richie and find out for yourself that he is one of the greats in our business.
Jeff Walker: One of the most talented musicians I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
This man is truly an asset to the recordings I have done. Jeff has played with many, many
people in his short lifetime. He is one of the most in demand musicians that I have had the
pleasure of knowing. Jeff plays a large assortment of instruments to include accordion,
button box, organ, concertina, tuba, bass guitar, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, drums, sax,
clarinet, piano, midi, bass fiddle, banjo, trumpet and whatever else is needed on a
recording session. He has been blessed with the ability of perfect pitch and his talent is
second to none.
Jeff also is a Disc Jockey and has his own radio show broadcasting from the studios of
WCQM FM in Park Falls Wisconsin. The show is called Northwoods Polka Jamboree and
can be heard on the Internet 24 hours a day Click on the button marked WCQM FM to hear
Jeff's show. His scheduled broadcast is from 8 PM to 10 PM every Sunday night and can
be heard on WCQM FM 98.3 on your radio dial.
In addition to all of this Jeff also owns and operates a recording studio known as Rhapsody
Records located in Butternut Wisconsin and can be reached at polkagomer@hotmail.com.
The address for Jeff Walker is 83152 Blueberry Road, Butternut, WI, 54514 phone Number:
715-769-3671.
Jeff also has several CD's available for sale and is a Polka Hall Of Famer inducted into the
Polka Hall Of Fame in Chisholm, Minnesota on July 24th, 2007.
As you may have guessed, Jeff is quite a star in the field of Polkas and Waltzes, but don't
let that fool you. This man is at home in country, rhythm and blues, rock and roll or
anything that he sets his mind too. Simply put, Jeff just loves to play music.
Red Higgins Heading up a band called Red Higgins and The Yankee Train, Red is the main
man in a country band that does a lot of work in the central Wisconsin area. As so often
the case for a lot of musicians their first love is not what they make their money at. Red
Higgins is a construction worker and is currently working on a CD featuring him as the
main vocalist. At home singing Johnny Cash and Dave Dudley types of songs, he has a
good voice.
Red kind of reminds of a big old teddy bear. A big man with a big voice and he is enjoyed
by so many people doing what he really loves and that is good old fashioned country music.
Check out Red's website at www.redhigginsandyankeetrain.com.
Michelle Genrich: The lady in charge of www.polkavideos.com. We are providing a link to
Michelle's site because she is first in the world of filming polka and waltz videos and live
performances of all the class act polka bands in the central Wisconsin area. Michelle is
located in Wausau Wisconsin and her website offers videos to the listener of high quality
polka and waltz types of music.
We are real supporters of sites like Michelles because they offer and promote polka and
waltz types of music which in Wisconsin is still the primary music when people go to
weddings and dances throughout Wisconsin. If you are a lover of polkas and waltzes and
old time music, we invite you to click on the above link and check out Michelle's site.
Scott Benson: Scott is a member of a group that plays a lot of college gigs and you read
the bio on this gentleman but the group he plays with has a website that you can look at.
The website is www.whozplaying.com.
For bookings and info on the band itself go to their website by clicking on the link
provided above.
